Our Hotel Dog Policy
There is no better place to take your dog on holiday than the Highlands, with so many dog-friendly activities on offer, they’re sure to have the time of their lives!
That’s why it was such an easy decision for us to become a dog friendly hotel. From hiking around the Kyle of Tongue to discovering the hidden gem of Coldbackie beach, every holiday is made even better with your furry friends.
Our Doggie Rules
While we’re thrilled that you’ve decided to bring your pup along on your stay, we do have a dog hotel policy that we kindly ask you to stick by. Dogs are very welcome in two of our guest rooms, 20 and 21, where there is direct access to our lawn. Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted in our other rooms, so when you make your booking, please select either room 20 or 21.
During your stay with us, we also ask that your furry friends are kept off the furniture and beds. If you’re leaving your pup unattended in your room, please use the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on your door or you can let reception know.
Your dog is also more than welcome in our lounge and bar areas, if it’s not too busy, but please ensure that they are supervised at all times.
We encourage you to make the most of all the activities on offer in Tongue, which can include walks that can get a bit messy, especially for your pup. So, we kindly ask that you give your dog a good clean before returning to your room.
Finally, when using the hotel grounds or surrounding areas, please use a dog poop bag for any fouling, which are available on request at reception.
Respecting the Local Community
The magic of staying with us is exploring the stunning landscapes, natural beauty and local wildlife, so in order to keep you, your dog and other wildlife safe, we ask that you respect our local community when you stay at our dog friendly hotel.
For more information, you can take a look at the Scottish Outdoor Access Code, which offers guidance on how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly.
Our Doggie Digs Fees
We do charge a small cost of £15.00 per dog per night up to £60.00 per stay. This is to cover any additional cleaning. Should we feel a deep clean is needed, or any damage is made to the room, this will be discussed with yourself and charged accordingly.
If you require any further information on bringing your dog to the hotel to stay overnight, please contact reservations@tonguehotel.co.uk.
With everything in our hotel dog policy out of the way, we wish you, your four-legged friend, and all of our other guests an amazing stay with us!
