Coastal Retreats

Strathy bay is a remote sandy beach with magnificent hilly scenery. While it’s the perfect place for a walk, the beach is also a popular spot for surfing, as the cliffs to the east shelter the beach from the winter swells and strong winds. Or if you’re here for a springtime visit, you will be able to see the beauty of the wildflowers blooming along the hilltops.

Another hidden gem along the NC500 is Coldbackie Beach. With crystal clear blue waters, golden sands and crashing waves, you may even mistake this isolated beach for a Caribbean paradise!
